AOL Changes to Slightly Less Outdated Music Service
AOL is ditching its music subscription service, MusicNow, in favor of Napster. Today Napster announced that it will become the new exclusive music service of AOL, picking up AOLs 350,000 former MusicNow subscribers. Furthermore, AOL will promote Napster across is free music download service, AOL Music.
The Cingular De-Branding
On Monday, AT&T will officially begin phasing out the Cingular brand - the result of a merger between AT&T and Bellsouth two weeks ago. The New York Times says that this will be the largest “de-branding” advertising campaign in history.

Said Jobs, “Cingular doesn’t want to see their West Coast network go down because some application messed up.” Translation: Apple doesn’t want to see their sales go down because some application is cooler than theirs.
