Craigslist Founder to Launch News Project

During a recent speech at Oxford University Craigslist founder Craig Newmark revealed plans for a large-scale online journalism project to debut sometime in the next three months.
Newmark plans to leverage a group of “talented amateurs” who will provide news and commentary that aims to be more critical than what the mainstream media has to offer.
He spoke on this issue of objectivity during recent interview in the British press:
“The big issue in the U.S. is that newspapers are afraid to talk truth to power. The White House press corps don’t speak the truth to power - they are frightened to lose access they don’t have anyway.”
