A little over a month after the first BitTorrent bust comes news of Opera Software’s launch of a browser that includes support for the BitTorrent file-downloading technology.
The integration of this technology will allow end users to download files faster by taking full advantage of available bandwidth and reducing the chance of delays when multiple users go after the same file. The press release has more and if you’re interested in giving it a try you can download it here, though the company says its for ‘preview purposes only.’
BitTorrent is already giving Hollywood a big-time headache as piracy concerns grow. News of this controversial technology being directly embedded in a browser is sure to add fuel to the fire. See the discussion on Slashdot now.
