Monday is a great day for making To Do lists. Also, downing enough coffee to caffeinate a small country and avoiding anyone in upper management until at least noon.
From the folks who brought you the project management tool BaseCamp and sharable To-Do lists Ta-Da comes the latest time management tool, Backpack.
What it is: An amped-up version of ‘To Do’ list.
What it does: It automatically converts items sent from your email, cell phone, Blackberry, etc. into items in a master list, complete with checkboxes, image thumbnails, the ability to set time/date reminders, etc.
Why it’s cool: Though we haven’t tried it yet personally, the interface/functionality is supposed to crazy elegant and intuitive.
Why it’s only sorta cool: As one user put it in the 37 Signals Blog, “What’s the point of a program with very limited functionality, even if that functionality is executed un-commonly well?”
But then again: Some of the simplest tools are the most useful. Isn’t simplicity one of the reasons why Google is where it is today?
Try it for yourself (when it’s rolled out) here.
